Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a third-person fantasy single-player action game with elements of real-time strategy and tower defense.

The game's plot and setting are inspired by Japanese mythology. The player takes on the role of a warrior who is skilled with a sword. He defends the village and the divine maiden from attacks by evil forces. Attacks occur every night, while during the day the player prepares to repel them. In battles, he is assisted by the villagers who have different skills. Villagers can be placed in the right places and given instructions.

The player's task is to destroy enemies with each battle and gradually cleanse the area of filth.
