The events take place in a fantasy medieval world full of various mysteries, monsters and magic. The game world is colorful and detailed, consists of several locations open for free movement.

The main character is the witcher Geralt of Rivia. He is a human mutant who, in addition to excellent fighting skills, has superhuman abilities. He needs to find a criminal who kills kings. The task is complicated by the fact that the killer is also a witcher.

Geralt can use two types of swords - ordinary and silver. Silver swords are for fighting monsters. He also has the skills and magic of a sorcerer at his disposal.
